I-69 Reconstruction and Widening Project

In April of 2007, Brooks Construction Company, Inc. was awarded INDOT Contract IR-28937. The project will ultimately reconstruct 5 miles of Interstate 69, including additional north and southbound driving lanes with a concrete barrier wall and a new bridge structure at Auburn Road. The project is currently engineered in three phases with completion estimated in 2008. Safety and traffic flow are very important to our company and state officials.
Please slow down and obey all traffic warning signs.
2007 - Mile Marker 114.3 to 116.7
PHASE I: May 29th through Mid August
Construction Activities: add driving lanes to maintain two lanes for traffic, install temporary barrier wall for safety, remove existing median and install drainage, remove Auburn Road bridge, install stone base and asphalt surface in "center" section, construct new center barrier wall.
Traffic Flow: two lanes will be available for both northbound and southbound travel utilizing the right hand lane and the newly widened shoulder. All exits will be open to traffic. Periodic lane closures from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
PHASE II: Mid August through End of September
Construction Activities: remove and reconstruct northbound driving lanes and outside shoulder.

All southbound exits will remain as normal. Periodic lane closure from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
PHASE III: End of September through Mid November
Construction Activities: remove and reconstruct southbound driving lanes and outside shoulder.
Traffic Flow: northbound and southbound traffic will be maintained on the newly constructed northbound side of I69. All southbound traffic wishing to exit onto I-469 or Dupont Road will need to take the ONLY exit located at approximately Mile Marker 116.5. This exit will serve both I-469 and Dupont Road. All northbound exits will remain as normal. Periodic lane closure from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
