Recycled Materials

We at Brooks Construction take pride in our use of recycled products. We are constantly pursuing new options to incorporated recycled products into our industry. We were the only one in the area to take advantage of the waste gases created by the local landfill to help produce the heat for our Fort Wayne asphalt plant. Brooks has made the effort to use as much recycled concrete as possible for aggregate base on paving projects. The use of this product has allowed us to pass the cost savings on to many of our customers while producing a “green product”.

Brooks has made using recycled asphalt products (RAP) in our new asphalt a top priority. The use of RAP allows us to keep the cost of producing new asphalt down while still sending out a superior product. We have also integrated the use of steel slag into our asphalt. Steel slag is a by-product of the steel mills that is infused into our surface mixture producing a very high quality and great looking surface for our customers.
